Hi! I'm Sammy. I'm a 3rd year PhD Candidate in the Computer Science department at the University of Houston. My research interests include Virtual Reality, Game Development, Medical Imaging, and Artificial Intelligence.
I am also appointed as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Houston - Downtown, and am currently the President of the Graduate and Professional Student Association at the Main Campus.
I am currently working on an online multiplayer video game codenamed Project Boltzmann, everything relies on randomness :)
My dissertation will focus on Redirected Walking, which will keep a user within a confined physical space while allowing for infinite exploration in a virtual world. The user will be able to conduct training sessions, engage in medical rehabilitation exercises, play video games, or be embodied within an immersive story to walk a mile within one's shoes.
My recent project involved using voice activation and LLMs to pair input to functions so medical data can be viewed and reflected across a network.
My hobbies include game development, skydiving, digital design and bouldering.
I am always open to collaboration or answering question in regards to the University of Houston.
